Favorite Summer Nail Trends

Updated: Aug 14, 2020

During quarantine I try to keep myself busy with different projects and hobbies. One of my favorite things to do is experiment with different nail art trends! I get most of my inspiration from Instagram and constantly find myself saving the next trend I want to try.

1. Rainbow Nails

Rainbow nails are the best option when you can't decide on a single color! This bright and summery mix of pastels is a perfect way to add color to your look. Experiment with different color palettes to bring your nails to life.

2. Fruit Nails

I came across these fruit-themed nails and thought they were so cute! I had so much fun with this dainty nail design. Use your favorite color to paint the whole nail and then get creative with your favorite fruits. If you don't have a dotting tool, you can still achieve this design. I used a needle and a bobby pin to paint the design on each nail!

3. "Sticker" Nails

These Glossier-inspired nails are definitely one of my favorites so far. For this look, I used a variation of toothpicks and nail art brushes. If you do not trust your nail art abilities, you can even purchase nail art stickers and just stick them onto your desired nail. This design is so fun because you can personalize whatever emojis, patterns, or images you want to recreate on your nails!

4. Polka Dot Nails

This was the first nail look I tried during quarantine. I was tired of my nude polish and wanted to add a pop of color. The best part about this polka design is that it doesn't require any particular nail art pens or brushes. You can gently tap the tip of your nail polish onto the nail to create the dot of your choice. Experiment with different color combinations and dot sizes to spice your nails up a bit!

5. A Twist on French

Try this colorful twist on the classic french manicure! I thought I'd experiment with my own version of a french manicure by adding a colorful tip and polka dots. You can even alternate the tips with your favorite colors or even add rainbow polka dots instead of committing to one color. This simple and clean nail art design is so quick and easy to do and I love the way it turned out!
